I have recently become a fan of applesauce. I love food with this kind of texture. It's also really good for apples that may not be so crisp anymore but still need using and not wasting.
So I bake them with just cinnamon and water in a big roasting pan covered in foil.... for quite a long time.
I then divide into portions and freeze the apples (I bake usually about 2kgs at a time) and then take them out as I need them- normally put 3-4 serves in one container.
I use this on porridge, yoghurt and my new favourite- beefing it up with chia seeds.
So simple, still has the fibre of the apples and is so versatile. It can count as one of your fruit servings in the day as well.
